Rowlands Webster, a long-established accountancy firm in the South West of England, has become the latest to merge with acquisitive group Streets. The merger with Rowlands Webster significantly strengthens Streets’ presence in the region.
The deal is described as extending Streets’ network of more than 36 UK offices, while preserving the group’s focus on a strong local ethos. Over recent years, Streets has acquired more than 30 companies as part of its buy-and-build growth strategy, operating without private equity backing.
Rowlands Webster was founded in 1997 and has established itself as a prominent local accountancy serving businesses and individuals in Dorset. The company has grown organically, with its team including a number of longstanding staff.
Following the merger, the company will trade as Streets Rowlands Webster for the next six months, before fully rebranding as Streets Bournemouth Limited.
Rowlands Webster Partner Janice Webster said: "This merger allows us to continue offering the friendly, local service our clients value, while adding access to Streets’ wider expertise in areas such as audit, international tax and business advisory services.”
"Our clients have been very positive about the change, recognising the additional value and continuity it brings. For our team, it opens up new professional development opportunities while keeping our base firmly in Dorset."
Streets Chairman and Managing Partner Paul Tutin commented: "Rowlands Webster is a long established and trusted name in the local business community. We are proud to welcome them into the Streets family, and we look forward to working together to provide even greater support to businesses and individuals across the region."
Streets has been targeting mergers over recent years as it seeks to build a UK-wide practice. Paul Tutin has previously said that, amid heightened levels of M&A in the accountancy sector, Streets’ offering stands out due to its focus on maintaining the approach of the companies it acquires.
