Top 20 accountancy firm TC Group has continued with its M&A-driven growth strategy, adding a presence in the Thames Valley with its latest merger. The group has merged with Buckinghamshire-based Stiles & Co, which has a history spanning more than 80 years.
Headquartered in Taplow, Stiles & Co serves clients across the Thames Valley, Greater London and the Home Counties. The company, which was founded in 1945, is described by TC Group as having built a strong reputation for providing businesses, organisations and private clients across an array of sectors with high-quality accountancy and advisory services.
TC Group Chief Growth Officer Shiv Shah commented: "We're delighted to welcome Stiles & Co to TC Group. After recognising remaining as an independent firm isn't without its challenges, we're delighted the Stiles & Co Directors chose TC Group as the home of choice for themselves, their people and their clients.”
"Our shared ethos on wanting to deliver relationship-led, long-term client outcomes rooted in true accountability made it clear we are and will remain a strong fit with one another."
According to TC Group, the deal will combine Stiles & Co’s local offering with the national scale and broad service offering of TC Group, enabling the merged business to deliver enhanced value to clients while preserving the service and values that they are familiar with.
The Partners at Stiles & Co said that the merger would bring benefits to clients in the form of additional technical support, as well as opportunities for staff.
They continued: “The Thames Valley, Greater London and Home Counties is an exciting region to cover and we believe that being part of TC Group will help us to further build our presence in the region in delivery of audit, accounting, and taxation services.”
The deal continues a busy period of M&A activity for TC Group, which now has more than 60 offices across the UK. Over recent months, the West Sussex-headquartered firm has added practices in Cambridge, County Durham and Scotland to its group.
In accounts for the year to December 31 2024, TC Group Holdings Limited reported turnover of £24.1 million, up from £14.3 million a year earlier, while operating profits increased from £4.8 million to approximately £12.1 million.
