Q. What is the Business Sale Report?

The Business Sale Report is an online and printed listing of businesses for sale in the UK and Europe. All the businesses listed have either a minimum turnover £500k or a minimum value of £250k.

Q. Why should I pay to subscribe?

Other services and websites do not show all the businesses for sale in the market, because they either charge a retainer or a listing fee. We don't charge a fee to vendors or vendors' agents, resulting in coverage of a far wider range of businesses, from thousands of sources. As well as thousands of business owners, we include businesses from all business brokers, including the small niche brokers and corporate finance boutiques. Some of these list their company sale opportunities with no-one else apart from us.

For subscribers, paying a modest subscription to see just about everything on the market in one place is exceedingly good value, especially when considering the amount they are prepared to spend on a company purchase. And we're working all the time at making the Business Sale Report even better value.

We have a dedicated research team that spends their days ferreting out just about every business that comes up for sale in the UK. We save our subscribers, people who are genuinely looking to purchase a company, hundreds of hours of research. Each year, tens of millions of pounds of deals are transacted as a result of 'meeting up' via our service.

Q. Who provides the businesses listed on your website?

We do not charge vendors/agents to list their businesses in our listing. We provide details of businesses submitted by private vendors as well as established brokers. We also monitor trade publications and national press for company disposals.

Q. What type of businesses do you list?

Any, as long as it is in the UK/Europe and has a minimum turnover of £500k.

Q. How do I get contact details for the businesses?

You need to subscribe. Subscription costs £225 (NOTE: We are currently running a £195 new subscriber offer) and lasts a full year.

Q. What will I get when I subscribe?

Subscribers receive 12 monthly printed magazines which list all new businesses added each month.

As part of the subscription package, you will receive a username and password – this gives you access to the subscribers’ section of the website. Once logged in, you will be able to view contact details for all businesses listed on our website. We carry 3 months’ worth of businesses at any one time and the website is updated daily with new businesses for sale.

The subscribers’ section also features:

Businesses Wanted section where you can submit your requirements on line.
Ability to add, view, modify and delete your listings of businesses for sale using our unique listings management system.
Fully searchable news database of recent acquisitions and divestments involving listed companies.
On The Market - commentary and rumours from the press and marketplace on large businesses for sale and proposed divestments of non-core divisions or subsidiaries.
A listing of all UK receiverships updated daily with full contact details for the receiver.

Q. Do you offer a guarantee?

We guarantee the quality of our database. New listings are added to the database every day and businesses are not kept on the database longer than 90 days. Although we are not responsible for verifying the particulars of every listing, our staff ensure that every effort is made to ensure that submissions are legitimate and as accurate as possible. We will immediately remove any listing that can be shown to be inaccurate, misleading, sold or out of date.

Q. How do I subscribe?

You can subscribe online, using our secure server or you can download the order form and pay either by cheque or standing order. Alternatively, we can take your details over the telephone. If you would prefer an invoice to be sent please contact us.

Q. How long will it take for my subscription to be processed?

Normally within 1-2 hours from Monday to Friday, 9.00 to 18.00. Please allow longer for subscriptions completed outside working hours. If you require access immediately please call.

Q. Can I list my business for sale for free?

Yes, you can. However if you wish to view, edit or use a private box number at our address (ideal if you wish the sale to remain confidential) we recommend that you subscribe. You would also be able to contact purchasers who advertise their requirements within the Businesses Wanted section.

Q. I can’t see any businesses that match my requirements. Can you help?

As well as our listing of businesses for sale and receiverships section, there are other methods available to subscribers to aid your acquisition search:

Advertising on Businesses Wanted section (free to subscribers) – we can also provide you with a box number if you wish to remain confidential
Silver Search acquisition search service – our research team is able to locate potential acquisition targets by business activity, location and size.
Established network of professionals – by contacting the business brokers and transfer agents who advertise within the Business Sale Report, it is possible to locate more acquisition targets.


Q. How do I list my business?

To list your business, simply click on the relevant links on the homepage of the website. You will then need to fill in a form with your contact details and business details. Listings may be declined if they do not meet editorial requirements.

Q. Do you list businesses in receivership?

We list businesses that have gone into administrative receivership and administration. Please refer to our receivership page for more information. All businesses are listed with the receivers’ contact details.

Q. I am looking for businesses with a turnover below £500k. Do you list them?

Yes, we have a sister site at bizsale.co.uk which lists shops, pubs, bars, restaurants, hotels, care homes, franchises and other businesses in the UK with a turnover of less than £500k.
