The founder of Euro Garages, Mohsin Issa, has been shortlisted as one of the five finalists for the National Entrepreneur of the Year award, sponsored by Coutts.
Mohsin started the business with his brother in 2001 with the idea of consolidating the independent petrol forecourt marketplace. From just one rundown garage in Bury, Mohsin steadily expanded the chain to 80-strong by buying astutely and cheaply, which meant in many cases buying
businesses in administration.
The company now has annual sales of £285 million and has created 200 new jobs in the last year alone.
