Marketing services firm Four Communications Group has acquired South-Wales based agency Cheeky Monkey Creative, in the group’s ninth acquisition since it received a £10 million equity finance investment from BGF in 2015.
Cheeky Monkey Creative was founded in 2001 and provides a range of creative services, including digital, branding, video and animation solutions. Its clients include the Institution of Civil Engineers, the Welsh Government Energy Service and the National Museum of Wales.
Post-acquisition, Cheeky Monkey Creative will join Four’s Welsh business in Cardiff and Aberystwyth, and rebrand as Four Cymru. The business will work alongside Four’s London and UAE-based creative and digital teams, while founder Bleddyn Edwards will become Four Cymru’s Director of Creative and Content.
Edwards commented: This is a great opportunity for everyone at Cheeky Monkey Creative. We have built a strong team and a loyal client base. Staff will now be able to participate on a larger, more international stage and enjoy the additional exciting opportunities this provides.”
"We pride ourselves on being forward looking constantly in our approach and to join forces with a multi-faceted organisation such as Four allows us to take the next step in our development.
Four Communications Group CEO Nan Williams added: "We are seeing huge demand for and growth in digital, creative and content services and Wales has been one of our best-performing units over the last year despite the pandemic. So we are thrilled to invest further in the Welsh creative economy."
