Administrators have taken the Fat Cat bar and restaurant chain in hand and are now working to sell off some of its sites.
The chain, which has been established in north Wales for 21 years, attributed its troubles to January's bad weather leading to poor trading which hit cashflow.
After several closures, the remaining properties are in Nottingham, Leicester, and Northampton, Bangor, Cardiff and Wrexham, and East London. The loss-making venues in Stoke, Anstey in Leicestershire, Llandudno and Chester have been shut down.
Tyrone Courtman and Nicholas Edwards of Cooper Parry were brought in as the joint administrators of Fat Cat Café Bars Ltd and Fat Cat Restaurants Ltd on 23 April. About 80 of its 200 staff have been made redundant.
Fat Cat had sales of over £8 million, but had not made profits for a few years.
Mr Courtman, the head of restructuring at Cooper Parry said: “The companies have been adversely affected by poor trading at a few of their outlets.
“The administration affords the companies the opportunity of restructuring this business whilst continuing to trade, we are keen to explore all options and shall continue to trade those operations for the foreseeable future.”
Mr Courtman would invite contact from anyone interested in buying the business as a whole or in part.
