A UK hotel chain is seeking a new buyer after going into administration.
Oyster Hotels Ltd, which operates three hotels including the Marsh Farm Hotel in Wootton Bassett, Swindon, has been taken over by administrators.
Joint administrators Arron Kendall and Simon Thomas of restructuring and insolvency firm Moorfields Corporate Recovery were appointed to Oyster Hotels Ltd on 9 February.
Marsh Farm is a 50-room hotel, which provides conferencing facilities, a beauty salon and restaurant. The group also manages The Chequers Hotel in Newbury, Berkshire and Gretna Hall hotel in Scotland.
With the help of hospitality and leisure sector specialist Convivial Group, the administrators are continuing to trade the hotels.
Joint administrator Arron Kendall explained: “We are currently continuing to trade the hotel whilst we explore the options, but are hopeful to find a buyer.
“The hotel sector is continuing to show strong signs of growth and Marsh Farm Hotel has a good range of facilities and benefits from a desirable location. We believe it provides a good opportunity for potential purchasers.”
