Two large hotels have been purchased out of administration by newly formed company Convivial Hotels Ltd recently.
The 45-bedroom Charmwood Hotel in Nottinghamshire and the 50-bedroom Rossett Hall hotel in North Wales are to be upgraded with the public areas, conference and wedding facilities refurbished. The investment is to be backed by Santander Bank.
Convivial Hotels has been set up by chartered surveyor Jeremy Jones, the owner of many businesses including Convivial Management Solutions, which runs about 45 pubs, clubs and restaurants.
The purchase marks the Convivial group’s first foray into hotels, which had previously run several hotels but without ownership.
Jeremy Jones, the managing director of the overall group of Convivial businesses, commented on the move: “We have experience of managing hotels in administration for insolvency practitioners and banks for several years.
“Now we are looking forward to developing Charmwood Hotel into a luxury destination suitable for tourists, business people and for those looking for the perfect wedding venue.”
The Best Western recently nominated Charmwood Hotel as one of the leading three 40 to 69-bedroom hotels in Britain. Fossett Hall is operated from a Grade ll-listed Georgian manor house.
