TalarMade Limited, an East Midlands-based provider of medical devices and clinical services, is set to accelerate its growth plans after securing backing from private equity firm Rockpool. The growth capital provided by Rockpool will enable the company to target strategic acquisitions and expand its geographic footprint.
Chesterfield-based TalarMade specialises in orthotics and pressure care products. The company services both NHS and private healthcare providers operating in orthotics, physiotherapy, podiatry and occupational therapy settings.
The company’s range of orthotic and pressure care services are developed by its in-house clinicians. Services are focused on medical evidence-based design, improved patient outcomes and regulatory compliance.
TalarMade also provides clinical services within the NHS, including specialist patient assessment and treatment for musculoskeletal conditions. The firm’s services are provided from several clinics across the UK.
Rockpool is investing in TalarMade alongside its existing management team. The company, which was founded in 2002 by chairman Bernie Crewdson, is led by Chief Executive Ryan Thomas, who called the investment “a strong vote of confidence in our strategy, people and future”.
Thomas continued: "With their backing, we'll accelerate our growth and continue delivering innovative, evidence-based products.”
"Our leadership team and core values remain unchanged, ensuring continuity for our staff and distribution partners with a commitment to deliver the same high standards our customers expect."
Rockpool's investment was led by partner Tom Coey, Investment Manager Toby Hurdle and Investment Associate Ryan McTigue.
Tom Coey commented: "TalarMade's reputation for clinical excellence and product innovation makes it a standout business in the UK healthcare market.”
"We look forward to supporting Ryan and his team as TalarMade expands into new geographies, pursues strategic acquisitions, and continues to deliver high-quality, evidence-based products for healthcare professionals and patients alike."
