A Lancashire bakery will live to see another day after being successfully bought out of administration for the second time in less than a year.
Administrators from RMS Tenon, who had been appointed to take charge of Taylors the Bakers when it filed for administration on 8 February this year, have confirmed that they have sold the business back to its existing management in a pre-pack administration deal.
A spokesman for RMS Tenon said that the business, which is based in Ashton-under-Lyme, was now looking forward to a confident future and that the deal had meant that the jobs of the 120 employees were secure.
The company has undergone a turbulent year having first filed for administration in March 2010, when it was known under than name of Sunfresh Bakers Ltd. The company was rescued from that administration when its directors, Stephen and Mark Taylor, bought its assets and goodwill, and changed its name to Taylors the Bakers.
A new company was registered with Companies House on 20 January 2011, shortly before the latest administration, called Taylors the Bakers 2011 Ltd, thought to be the new business behind the running of the bakery.
The company specialises in making oven-bottom muffins for several major companies as well as schools, hospitals and sandwich shops.
