A care group in the East Midlands has been acquired after 50 years under the same ownership. Willover Property Limited owns and operates the Stanley House and Abbeydale Nursing homes in Derby.
The nursing homes, both of which are management-run, are situated on Duffield Road, in close proximity to Derby city centre, and were opened by the Shepperson family in 1975 and 1986 respectively. Both are rated Good by the CQC and are registered to house a total of 83 residents
Willover Property has now been acquired by care operators Iqbal and Perminder Sanghera in a deal overseen by PKF Smith Cooper. The group was marketed for sale by Nick Greaves of NGA Care, who identified the buyers. Iqbal and Perminder Sanghera also own the New Lodge Nursing Home in Mickleover.
Former director Mike Shepperson commented: "It has been an honour and a privilege to care for so many wonderful residents and to work alongside a truly dedicated team.”
"Abbeydale and Stanley House have always been about putting people first and I am confident that through the sales process by NGA Care, the homes are in excellent hands.”
Shepperson added that selling the family business was “a significant milestone” and that he couldn’t have gone through with the deal without the support of PKF Smith Cooper, saying the firm’s “expertise, dedication, and calm guidance” had enabled a “smooth and successful” transaction.
Iqbal Sanghera praised the role of NGA Care’s Nick Greaves, who ensured that the “whole process from start to finish was well managed and professional.”
He continued: "Stanley House and Abbeydale's values, staff, and community ties will remain intact. The homes have been a cornerstone of Derby for five decades. My priority is to honour its heritage while ensuring seamless continuity in the exceptional care residents and families rely on."
