CLP Group FS, a Widnes-based electrical services provider, has been acquired by energy and compliance provider Sureserve for an undisclosed sum. The acquisition is part of Sureserve’s bid to bolster its electrical services offering.
CLP Group FS provides electrical building, maintenance and groundworks services to sectors including education, property management, social housing, commercial and industrial, working with a nearly 100 strong team.
Commenting on the deal, Graham Levinsohn, Sureserve Group CEO, said: “The electrical market continues to be a strategic priority for us and CLP’s expertise, culture and established client base make them the perfect partner to drive forward this expansion with us.”
“We look forward to combining our strengths to deliver energy-efficient electrical solutions to the social housing sector and beyond.”
CLP Group FS Managing Director Jonathan Moody said that the deal was an “exciting and proud moment” in the company’s journey, adding: “Over the years, we’ve worked hard to build a business known for its quality, reliability, and strong client relationships, and this partnership with Sureserve is the next natural step in that journey.”
“With Sureserve’s infrastructure and resources behind us, we’ll be able to strengthen our operational standards, improve reporting and give our clients even greater peace of mind, especially in a time where regulatory expectations are higher than ever.
CLP Group CEO Carl Pye commented: “Joining the Sureserve Group is an exciting new chapter for CLP, bolstering our position as a key player as a provider of electrical services. Together with Sureserve, we can continue to build a solid foundation as one of the leading providers to the social housing sector in the UK.”
The deal is Sureserve’s fourth acquisition of 2025 so far, following its takeover of solar energy provider Photon Project Management, the £56.4 million acquisition of compliance and sustainability solutions provider Kinovo plc and the acquisition of Net Zero advisory Hi Group.
