Architectural IT group Codus has been bought by managed IT services provider Everything Tech Group.
Founded in 2008 by managing director Lee Hunt, Bury-based Codus Group is an IT support and services company specialising in the architectural, planning and construction sectors. Its services include cybersecurity, managed IT support and disaster recovery.
It specialises in providing tailored IT that address the complex requirements of the industry, such as handling and uploading of large design files, supporting hybrid working and ensuring the robust security measures required for the safeguarding of plans for public and private buildings.
Everything Tech Group was founded in 2021 and has offices in Manchester, Derby and Sheffield. It offers SMEs a full range of managed services around four distinct specialist units – Cloud & Remote Desktop services, Networks & Security, Voice & Contact Centre, and IT Support. It employs over 100 members of staff across the UK, serving customers in a range of sectors and industries.
The deal follows a loan from NatWest which is supporting Everything Tech Group with additions to its portfolio as part of its M&A growth plan. It is taking advantage of rising demand from SMEs for managed services to cut costs and improve efficiencies.
Everything Tech Group said the acquisition will build on its ‘strategic offering particularly for architecture and construction firms’. While the integration with Everything Tech Group will enable Codus, which will continue to operate under its own brand, to leverage additional resources, services and expertise, offering its clients a more complete suite of digital services.
Hunt said: "Architects face unique challenges when it comes to adopting cloud solutions, largely due to the size and nature of their design files. Our intimate knowledge of the sector combined with our tailored IT services ensure these firms can operate securely, quickly and cost effectively, removing the time restraints traditionally associated with this type of work. Our partnership with Everything Tech Group enables us to offer enhanced services to our existing clients and will drive our reach across the UK."
Mark Allen, co-founder and chief financial officer of Everything Tech Group, added: "Codus' expertise in the architectural space complements and strengthens our existing portfolio further aligning with our vision to provide leading technology and IT solutions across the UK's largest industries."
