An East Midlands-based electronics manufacturer and seller has been acquired in a pre-pack deal after falling into administration last month. Grade (UK) Limited, which trades as Vision Plus, is a major manufacturer and distributor of television antennas and related products for the caravan, motorhome and marine markets.
The company had experienced a range of challenging trading conditions for a number of years and subsequently fell into administration, with Michael Roome and Jamie Playford of Leading Business Services appointed as joint administrators on August 11 2025.
According to the joint administrators, Vision Plus had faced significant challenges over recent years as a result of “declining market conditions” seen in the recreational vehicle sector from 2018 onwards.
These headwinds led to the company seeing a 25 per cent drop in sales during 2024 and its problems deepened at the start of this year, with a further 25 per cent decline in sales recorded during the first quarter of 2025.
The company’s situation was further exacerbated by mounting competitive pressures, administrators said, as well as shifting consumer preferences. These factors left the business "unable to achieve the turnaround required despite considerable investment in new Wi-Fi-enabled antenna technology".
Upon their appointment, the joint administrators secured a pre-pack sale of the company’s business and assets to an unconnected party, in a deal that they said was designed to "preserve the ongoing value of the business and secure employment where possible whilst maximising returns for creditors".
In Grade (UK) Limited’s most recent financial accounts at Companies House, for the year to December 31 2023, its fixed assets were valued at £1.1 million and current assets at close to £1.2 million, with net assets amounting to just under £2.1 million.
While pre-pack sales can be a valuable rescue option, sales to connected parties are increasingly tightly regulated
