Care provider Optimo Care Group has continued its expansion with a deal to acquire Colchester-based specialist care firm My Life Choice (MLC). MLC offers a range of services and specialises in care for younger adults with autism and other complex care needs.
The firm was established in 2018 and has grown to currently employ 55 staff. All of MLC's employees will remain with the firm post-acquisition, with plans in place to increase the team further and expand its services.
Optimo was founded in 2010 and initially largely operated in the North of England but is now seeking to expand across the UK. The business is comprised of several subsidiaries and delivers over 16,500 hours of care per week.
The company is looking to expand its geographical range, services and portfolio via an acquisition-led growth strategy, with the takeover of MLC the third deal the company has completed thus far, following its acquisitions of Manchester-based Mayday Homecare in August and Safe Hands Support the following month.
Commenting on the acquisition of MLC, Optimo’s Head of M&A Ben Hales said: “Optimo has significant experience of delivering complex services and acquiring My Life Choice allows us to offer our complex supported living division across a full UK footprint.”
“I would like to say thank you to both Jane and Stephanie for their inspiring work over the last few years. I would also like to thank Nathan Miller at Redwoods for his continued support and yet again playing an instrumental role in putting this together.”
Optimo CEO Richard Walker added: “With our long standing experience and scale, My Life Choice will be supported to reach its potential as a leading provider of very complex supported living and we look forward to working with and growing the team into the future.”
