Aberdeen’s Bieldside Inn has been acquired by pub firm PB Developments in a strategic disposal by former owners Signature Pub Group.
Signature Pub Group offloaded the pub for around £1.5 million as it aims to concentrate on plans to acquire and develop bars in Aberdeen city centre.
PB Developments already owns eight venues located across Aberdeen, including the Stage Door, Soul, Soul Casino, Zen Oriental, the College, the Forum, Babylon and the Queen Vic.
Knight Frank’s David Reid brokered the acquisition deal. He told Caterer Search that there had been ‘good interest in the sale’, adding that the high level of interest proved that quality businesses will always sell, even in a difficult or slow market.
A spokesperson for PB Developments told the publication, “PB Developments has been trading successfully for over 25 years and was founded by Stuart Clarkson and his father.
"It is this family-friendly business orientation that Mr Clarkson has in mind for his new venture at the Bieldside Inn, which will be managed by Bob Calder, Stuart Clarkson's brother-in-law, who has worked for the firm for 23 years," the spokesperson added.
