Nurture Childcare Services, a provider of specialist residential care and supported living for young people has been acquired by a private equity-backed counterpart.
Nurture Childcare Services has six homes across the North West of England and looks after a range of young people of all ages, with capacity to accommodate anything from one to five children.
It has been bought by Dunfermline-headquartered Pebbles Care to help it expand its UK presence and reinforce its commitment to the provision of high quality children's residential care services.
On behalf of the Nurture management team, chief executive Chris Smith said, “We are very pleased with the quality enhancements we have made to the Nurture services since we acquired them back in 2021 and hope to see it now go from strength to strength. Thanks again to our respective advisors at Castle Square and George Green for their support."
Brad Green, partner at Castle Square Corporate Finance, said: "We are very pleased to have acted on this transaction. Quality is paramount when transacting in this sector, and with Chris and the wider management team having laid extremely strong foundations, the Pebbles team can now build on this and make the business an even larger contributor to such an important service offering."
Pebbles Care has been backed by Ardenton Capital since 2019. Launched in 2003 Pebbles has grown into national service with over 50 loving residential homes and innovative independent schools
Michael Bradbury of Ardenton led on the deal with the support of Dan Miller. He said: "It was a pleasure to work with Brad Green and the team at Castle Square to acquire Nurture Childcare Services. In the specialist residential care and supported living sector quality of care is a non-negotiable and Chris Smith and his team have successfully transformed Nurture into an excellent care provider and one which the Pebbles team are extremely pleased to welcome into the Pebbles group."
Midlands-based law firm George Green LLP, led by Kam Johal and Heather Smith, provided legal services and advice to the shareholders of Nurture on the transaction. Johal, partner at George Green LLP, said: "We are delighted to have advised the shareholders on the sale of The Nurture Group to Pebbles Care Limited. Our team provided comprehensive legal advice throughout the transaction, ensuring all aspects were handled to facilitate a smooth and successful completion. We look forward to watching the continued growth of the business under the direction of its new owners."
