Premier Technical Services Group (PTSG) has acquired Manchester-based facilities management firm NSS in a deal which provides an exit for BGF. The deal creates one of the UK’s largest facilities management businesses, with around 2,300 staff serving 47 sites across the UK.
NSS Group was formed in 2018 through a merger of working at height firms High Access Maintenance and Nationwide Window Cleaning. It offers a full-suite of external building maintenance services, including working at height window cleaning, technical cleaning and platform hire, and serves clients across a range of sectors, from retail and commercial property to events and healthcare.
Paul Teasdale, CEO of West Yorkshire-based PTSG, said: “This acquisition increases the capacity of PTSG’s experienced Building Access Specialists team, complementing the work of our highly trained specialists who excel in all access methods – cleaning, repairing and maintaining every kind of building and structure.”
The business has been backed by BGF since 2017, when the investor provided an initial £3.3 million in funding. This enabled the business to pursue a national rollout, as well as an acquisition strategy that saw it complete four takeovers, expanding its presence and enabling it to enter new markets.
NSS CEO Niel Bethell commented: “BGF’s funding allowed us to accelerate our plans to rapidly expand over the past five years. In this time, we’ve really grown up as a business – investing in our people, equipment, and technology. In PTSG, we’ve found the ideal home for NSS as their values match ours and they have the same uncompromising commitment to customer service.”
BGF’s head in the North West, Neil Inskip, added: “Niel and his team have done an impressive job of growing NSS’ enviable customer base and expanding into new regions and sectors. We’re delighted to announce such a positive outcome for everyone involved.”
