James Douglas Sales and Lettings, a Cardiff-headquartered real estate agency, has said it is considering further acquisitions following its previous takeover of Newport-based firm Nuttall Parker.
Over the past nine months, the Newport branch has been co-branded, enabling a smoother transition for clients, partners and the general public. From this autumn onwards, the branch will be known as James Douglas, aligning with the company’s existing branches in Cardiff and Pontypridd.
James Douglas Managing Director Douglas Haig said that the firm’s expansion into Newport was “a significant step forward” and that the “success of the co-branding phase has demonstrated the strength and synergy of our teams.”
The recently-established Newport branch offers a comprehensive range of services, including sales and lettings, mortgage, conveyancing and survey. Douglas Haig said that Newport was an “incredibly exciting market” that James Douglas had “long admired as part of our strategic growth.”
Discussing the company’s future expansion plans, Haig added: “We certainly plan to increase our presence and would welcome conversations with any business or landlord who would like to work with us and our enviable brand. Whether that be an acquisition or something else, we would welcome the conversation."
Bernadette Lovitt, Head of Sales at James Douglas, said: "We are committed to continuing to deliver the high-quality service our clients deserve and trust. This expansion allows us to serve the Newport community better and offer a more streamlined, comprehensive real estate service.”
"Our team in Newport is equipped with the knowledge, experience, and passion to support our clients through every step of their property journey."
