Dynamis Associates, a domestic retrofit and renewable energy company based in Warrington, has acquired Arctica Partners to mark the first deal in a planned M&A drive. The company is aiming to grow and establish its position as a key player in the UK’s drive to Net Zero through acquisitions, with the firm planning to make a number of further acquisitions in the coming months.
The acquisition gives Dynamis access to the only approved project methodology for domestic carbon credit creation, as well as a considerable pipeline of enrolled retrofit activity up until 2026.
Arctica’s carbon finance model enables businesses to offset carbon emissions by funding locally-focused projects helping social housing providers and homeowners to increase the scale and pace of housing retrofit.
Dynamis Chief Executive Martin Smith said: "The UK Government has a target to be Net Zero by 2050, and the biggest contributor to carbon emissions in the UK is private domestic properties.”
"Arctica Partners provides a unique offering to funding a low-carbon housing stock that will have a significant impact in helping the country to achieve these goals. Their crediting methodology will facilitate businesses with UK operations on their decarbonisation journey, supporting accessibility of warmer homes and lower energy bills for the country's most fuel-poor households at scale.
Smith added: "It was the right time for us to take ownership of the business and support its future growth, helping to supercharge the adoption of green energy solutions."
