Kings Corporate has announced the successful sale of an established manufacturer of protective packaging products based in the South West. 3A Manufacturing Limited is well known for its expertise in the design and production of foam packaging, bubble wrap and bubble bags.
The Wimborne-based company, which works across sectors including pharmaceuticals, electronics, aerospace and horticulture, has now been sold to Ferguson Company Investments Ltd.
With a loyal client base, a wide range of bespoke capabilities and a user-friendly e-commerce platform, 3A Manufacturing was reported to have attracted significant interest when it was brought to market.
The company is able to produce custom packaging and offers both manufacturing and distribution facilities, along with a modern infrastructure, efficient production space and strong transport links in the South of England.
It also has a strong financial record and a well-established brand, with all of these factors said to have made it a highly desirable acquisition target, while making the sale a "strategic and well-timed move".
The business was put up for sale as a result of its owner seeking to retire, with Oliver Edwards, sales negotiator at Kings Corporate, part of UK business sales advisory group Altius Group, engaged to market the business for sale.
Edwards ultimately located an appropriate buyer in Ferguson Company Investments, with the buyer feeling that the deal offered an opportunity to build on the company’s strong foundations and explore opportunities including operational expansion, additional product development and digital marketing strategies.
From agreement to completion, the sale of the business took just six weeks.
