A host of new office facilities and other commercial properties are going to become available after development started on a plot in Peterborough.
The locally based R&H Developments has recently acquired land for development at Kingston Park in Hampton, Peterborough Today reported. The site was bought off O&H Properties, a London firm that chose not to develop the land itself.
As well as the building of new houses, the development will offer various commercial premises, particularly large scale industrial spaces and warehouses. The development site totals 14.5 acres and adjoins the Amazon, Willis & Gambier and Debenhams distribution warehouses at Kingston Park. It is expected to be a popular location due to its proximity and ease of access to London.
Rob Facer, managing director of R&H Developments, said: “The site will offer industrial and warehouse accommodation to a range of users and provides good access and prominence which will hopefully be desirable to the market.
He added: “There is currently a shortage of industrial space in Peterborough which contains a good level of external yard and this is something that we can offer here.”
Construction of the new units is expected to get under way this autumn. It is reported that the site will offer plots from 0.34 acres up to as large as five acres for industrial, warehouse, trade counter or showroom uses.
Commercial agents Savills have been appointed as the letting agent for the new commercial development. The company’s director Paul Farrow said: “We are delighted this prominent site will shortly be developed.”
Operating internationally, the company offers the development, hosting, and maintenance of electronic document management software. The business provides maintenance contracts, licences, installation, and training for its software.
