The Penpol Boatyard in Feock, Cornwall has been put up for sale with an asking price of at least £2 million. The boatyard, located on Penpol Creek on southern Cornwall’s Fal Estuary, has room to accommodate up to 60 vessels, along with six additional deep water moorings and a 7,232 sq ft boat workshop.
Also included in the sale is owner’s accommodation, an office, wood working machine shop and an array of equipment. The equipment in the sale includes a Dory workboat featuring 75 horsepower Tahatsu outboard engine, Kato 22-tonne crane, a slipway winch and an assortment of cradles.
The owner’s accommodation is fully renovated and set over two floors, with open-plan living area and kitchen, study, bathroom and utility room on the ground floor and four-bedrooms, bathroom and space to build an en suite for the master bedroom on the first floor. The property also features gardens, a garage/workshop and outside parking.
The boatyard is well situated in southern Cornwall, lying within around five miles of the town of Truro, which provides a main line rail link to London’s Paddington station. The yard is also located close to Mylor Harbour and Falmouth.
The property was acquired by wooden boatmaker Butler and Co from Ocean Yacht Company in 2016 when the company relocated from Dartmouth. The boatyard has now been brought to market by real estate advisor Savills, acting on behalf of a private client.
Chris Sweeney, Director in Savills Exeter’s Leisure and Trade team, said: “This is a fabulous opportunity to acquire a boatyard with owner’s accommodation, situated on the banks of Penpol Creek on the Fal Estuary. We expect significant demand from the lifestyle buyer market for this well established and profitable business located in Cornwall.”
