The Cornwall Hotel and Spa in St Austell, officially opened by Sophie the Countess of Wessex following a £30 million refurbishment in 2010, has been placed on the market for £7.5 million.
The site is on the Cornwall Estate and dates back to the Anglo-Saxon times. The estate was purchased by the Coode family in the early 19th century. The house that forms part of the Cornwall Hotel was built for the St Austell banker back in 1834.
The hotel today offers guests a four-star experience, with nine rooms located in the Grade ll listed manor house, and a further 56 in the Woodland Rooms built in 2008 and 2009.
The sale of the venue is being managed by Matthew Smith of Christie + Co in Exeter. He said: “Its 65 bedrooms, food and beverage facilities, spa and holiday lodge potential all come wrapped in a fantastic position – not just in terms of the estate itself, but also in its location in the heart of many of Cornwall’s most popular visitor attractions, such as the Eden project and the Lost Gardens of Heligan.”
Twenty-two privately-owned cottages on the 43-acre estate are managed by the hotel for the owners on short-term lets. The site also has planning permission for 36 holiday lodges.
This long-established commercial refrigeration business, based in the South East, boasts a well-respected brand and an extensive client list across the hospitality, medical, and marine industries.
This Midlands-based MSP has a proven track record delivering tailored IT solutions to a diverse client base across sectors such as automotive, healthcare, and construction.
An opportunity has arisen to acquire a leading luxury florist company supplying high profile, prestigious clients. Its client list includes luxury brands, film companies, event planners, catering firms as well as corporate and private clients.
