A holiday firm specialising in walking breaks has bought the Longmynd Hotel in Church Stretton.
HF Holidays bought the hotel on a five-year lease purchase agreement and it will become the 20th hotel in the award-winning firm’s portfolio.
The co-operative travel firm was founded in 1913 and arranges walking and outdoor leisure holidays for over 50,000 people a year. As well as the Longmynd Hotel, HF Holidays also owns 19 other country houses in the UK.
Longmynd Hotel boasts 50 bedrooms, an outdoor pool and plenty of public rooms ideal for social gatherings for walkers enjoying a break. This year, HF Holidays plans to offer a range of holidays based at the Longmynd Hotel including guided walking holidays, discovery tours, gardens tours, industrial revolution breaks and a bridge and walking getaway.
Head of Hotel Operations, Fraser Lord, said, “The Longmynd is a fantastic country house with all the facilities for great sociable holidays. It is already popular with walkers and those who enjoy the outdoors, and is easily accessible from most of England and Wales."
He added, “We’re very much looking forward to welcoming members and guests at this new location.”
