The Best Western Burnside Hotel and Parkside Country Club in Bowness-on-Windermere has been placed on the market with a £2.5 million price tag after the company entered receivership.
The operating company behind the property, Riverside Hotels Ltd, is now in the control of LPA Receivers, and is being marketed by hotels agent Colliers International in partnership with GVA.
The hotel has 57 bedrooms, meeting rooms, conference facilities, bars and restaurants, and also hosts weddings. While the adjoining country club offers the uses of an indoor heated pool, spa bath, steam room, sports hall and squash court, amongst other facilities to its guests.
The hotel and country club amassed sales exceeding £1.7 million for the year ending 28th February 2014.
Julian Troupe, the head of UK hotels agency at Colliers International, spoke of his optimism and expectations for plenty of interest in the sale to the Westmorland Gazette: “This is a rare opportunity to acquire a 57-bedroom hotel with adjoining leisure club and strong trading base in an elevated position with views of Windermere. I’m convinced that we’ll attract considerable interest in this outstanding offering.”
