A high-end hotel located in an affluent Cheshire village has been brought to market with an asking price of £2.5 million after entering administration last month.
The Bridge Hotel, located in the village of Prestbury in Cheshire, is currently being marketed by commercial property agents GVA as a going concern business.
The hotel itself is a detached period property in the small settlement, and was previously a popular venue for weddings and conferences as well as housing a popular French restaurant. It had been operating as The Bridge since 1952.
The property listing also details a “character bar” and a “modern rear extension” with 23 letting bedrooms as well as a function room that can house up to 100.
Martin Davis, a member of GVA’s Northern Hotels team, said: “This superb hotel is situated in one of the North West’s most desirable and sought after residential locations which provides an ingoing operator with an excellent opportunity to develop trade.”
The Bridge fell into administration in October 2017 after encountering financial difficulties earlier in the financial year. Arron Kendall and Simon Thomas from Moorfields Advisory were appointed joint administrators.
At the time of administration, the hotel employed 40 staff who are believed to have since been made redundant.
Kendall, speaking when the administration was announced, said economic pressures and adverse trading conditions meant that a sale was the likely outcome.
He added: “The hotel has had a good trading history and would be a good purchase for someone wishing to build on the reputation of the existing hotel.”
