Three holiday parks in north-east Scotland have been put up for sale, with offers of over £9 million being sought. The caravan parks comprise the Christies Parks business and are being marketed for sale as their owner is set to retire.
The three parks are Burghead Beach, Burnside and Lossiemouth Bay, all located within nine miles of the popular holiday area of Egin. The parks offer a range of pitches in both coastal and woodland areas.
The Burghead park is located overlooking the beach in the historic fishing village of the same name. It has 101 pitches set over a site extending to approximately 6.1 acres.
Burnside is set in woodland adjacent to the village of Fochabers. The 15-acre site includes 144 pitches and a large covered area featuring a swimming pool, jacuzzi and sauna. The site also has 1.5 acres of woodland, with the potential for further development.
Finally, Lossiemouth Bay is located near to the coastal town of Lossiemouth. The site overlooks the River Lossie and has 152 pitches across approximately 10 acres. In addition to its pitches, the site also includes a modern residential/holiday house and an adjoining area of land that has been earmarked for expansion.
Commenting on the sale, retiring owner Gordon Christie said: “Running the parks has been a joy for me for over 40-years but now is a good time for somebody with fresh and new ideas to take control and move them forward in the future."
Property agent Colliers is handling the sale and the firm’s Head of UK Park Agency Richard Moss said: “Christies Parks provides an excellent blend of a strong established business which also has significant growth potential for a new operator.”
"Established in 2006, the family business can trace its roots back to 1820. The business has always performed well but has traded superbly in the heightened demand from so many holiday home-owners looking for a getaway place from the stresses of modern life.”
The company produces and supplies a wide range of coffee products created using ethically sourced beans from South America. The core products comprise wholebeans, grounds, single-origin roasts, blends, cold brews and compostable pods.
LEASEHOLD
The business was first established by the owner in 2019, building up an excellent reputation during its time of trading. As seen by some online ratings and reviews, the business is extremely popular within the local area.
