Renowned bathroom fittings manufacturer, Twyford Bathrooms, is carrying out an asset sale of items from its Stoke-on-Trent factory after operations there were brought to a close.
The company is selling the items online through Jackson Philips Asset Solutions, which specialises in industrial plant and machinery disposal. It is thought that many of the items on offer are pieces of industrial machinery, including kilns, forklift trucks, woodwork machines and hoists.
Plans were announced to close the factory in Lawton Road, Alsager, last May, after bosses announced that British-made products could simply not compete with materials coming from countries with lower operational costs. Production was ultimately halted at the plant in August of this year and transferred abroad. It is thought that the owners of the site, developers Lagan (Alsager), are looking to create a mixed-use development on the industrial site.
"The factory closed in August and the company is now divesting its equipment," a spokesman for Twyford confirmed. "The site was sold some time ago to a developer which is leasing the portion of the site that the Twyford head office takes up back to the company."
No starting prices have yet been set for the 490-item sale, which is scheduled to take place in the form of an online auction next week. The machinery switch-off earlier this year signalled the end of 160 years of manufacturing by Twyford in the area.
This construction services business in the Home Counties, South East, boasts a strong turnover and owns valuable assets, including plant, machinery, and intellectual property.
This is a rare opportunity to acquire Saxton, a leading UK premium B2C lifestyle gardening brand with a highly engaged customer base of approximately 300,000 individuals.
This opportunity involves acquiring the full shareholding or investing in a leading London-based global digital payments platform, primed for scalability with a track record of servicing over 200 clients and processing $1.1 billion in transactions.
