Papilo, a waste management solutions provider, has completed its first acquisition since securing backing from private equity firm Palatine with a deal for a specialist agricultural landspreading business.
The Manchester-based company has acquired the organic waste landspreading (‘Waste-to-Land’) division of Lancashire-based Silverwoods Waste Management Ltd in a deal that broadens its service offering, enhances its sustainability credentials and boosts its revenues by more than £5 million.
The acquired division is a well-established business that has been part of Papilo’s supply chain for more than 15 years. The business works alongside major food manufacturers and water utility companies, identifying agricultural benefit within organic waste streams and distributing waste to the agricultural sector, where it is ultimately used as natural fertiliser on farms.

The deal represents Papilo’s first acquisition since securing investment from Palatine’s returns-focused Impact Fund in June 2023.
