Yorkshire businessman Jason Mace has purchased the assets and client bank of Pat Man UK.
Mr Mace, the managing director of tent, marquee and gazebo maker Gala Tent, made his purchase to set up a new company named Pat Man Company.
The business is to become a subsidiary of Gala Tent, and will be lead by managing director Chris Winterbourne with a team of electrical engineers, and will work towards growing the business over the coming months.
Pat Man UK is Gala Tent’s second acquisition in recent months, having purchased Sign Man, which offers wide format printing, with a view to strengthening its bespoke branding service for its tent clients.
Gala Tent says the new service will meet the Electricity at Work regulations along with public and employee insurance liability requirements. Pat Man Company will be offering free risk assessments for local businesses for a limited time.
Mace said: “We have spotted a gap in the market for an efficient and cost effective portable appliance testing service.
“We were offered a deal to acquire the customer base and assets of a reputable local business that needed help and so decided to expand our operations into this area.
“We expect to use our local business contacts to grow the client base and to create a number of new jobs over the next six months.”
