The assets of luxury train excursion firm Cargo-D Ltd, which traded as Rail-Blue Charter, are to be sold after it entered administration recently.
Carl Jackson and Sandy Kinninmonth of RSM Tenon have been drafted in to take care of matters for the firm, which has ceased to trade.
The firm owes customers thousands of pounds, and they could face difficulties getting their money back despite a call from the administrators for customers to fill in forms to show how much they are owed. Those who paid using a credit card are being urged to seek a refund from their banks.
Rail-Blue Charter had scheduled a private excursion from the North East through Yorkshire and into Cumbria for 9 September. Customers did not receive their tickets, costing between £69 and £179.
RSM Tenon made a statement, “RSM Tenon is currently conducting an initial review of the business, with a view to selling assets for the benefit of creditors. No further services will be provided as the company has ceased to trade.”
Trips took passengers between various locations across the UK including from London to Glasgow, while upcoming trips this year were to include Didcot to York, Durham and Newcastle; and Lincoln to Bath and Bristol for the Christmas Markets.
Rail-Blue Charter catered for sporting events, business events, weddings, film and media and leisure travel.
