The promoters behind the Bloc festival have entered administration, it has been confirmed.
A brief announcement on Baseloc's website confirmed that the business was being forced to shut down its operations following the calamity that took place at last weekend's festival.
Bloc Festival was forced to close on its first evening last weekend due to crowd-management problems. Baseloc has promised to investigate the issues but it appears that ticket-holders are unlikely to receive any refund on their tickets.
The company's statement read: “The team are working hard with the administrators to investigate the issues that led to the closure of the event and people will be updated as and when we have new information.
“We ask that you allow the administrators time to conduct a thorough investigation so we can establish the facts. Once again we would like to apologise for all of the frustration and disappointment this situation has caused and thank everyone who has supported the team over the years, your continued support means so much to us.”
Parker Andrews has been appointed as an administrator and noted that Bloc “voluntarily entered administration” on 11 July. Jamie Playford has been appointed administrator. He noted that he will work to understand the facts and assess “what funds will be available to creditors and ticket-holders”.
