Fri, 18 Nov 2011 | ADMINISTRATION
The Sky TV channel for yoga enthusiasts Body in Balance (BiB) has entered administration and is to be sold as a going concern. Administrator Edwin Kirker from Kirker & Co has been brought in to manage the process.
Mr Kirker is confident that a sale will take place quickly. Speaking to Insolvency News he said, “There are several interested parties and we are hoping to complete a sale within the next seven to 10 days.”
“At the moment we have two interested parties which are completely independent and we are hopeful we could make a six figure sale.”
First aired in 2007, BiB was Britain’s first channel focused on leisure and health. Well-known yoga and fitness instructors featured on the channel include Maya Fiennes, Baron Baptiste, Lara Baumann and Dolphina.
The channel won the 2009 “Hot Bird TV” award for Lifestyle, and sells DVDs of its programmes on its website, as well as CDs, books and props.
It was reported earlier this month that the twice-convicted fraudster Gerald Smith was thought to be working at BiB for over six months in a management capacity this year after raising the cash to buy out the firm’s majority shareholder. Two directors at BiB, John Hall and Greg Roselli, have exited the firm in recent weeks.
