Eastleys Solicitors has been successfully saved in a pre-pack administration deal to Recompense Limited.
Anthony Fanshawe and Francis Savage of Begbies Traynor were brought in as the administrators on 3 August after the business had been struggling with its finances.
The deal will see the transferral of all 33 Eastleys staff and two partners to Recompense. Eastleys operates from Paignton and Brixham in Devon and focuses on property conveyancing, commercial litigation, private clients and family and children work. It reported revenues of £1.2 million in 2011.
Andrew Fanshawe commented, “While the business had run into financial difficulties, we wanted to ensure we secured the jobs of staff and put arrangements in place to enable what is a long-standing practice to continue to undertake its work.
“A sale out of administration was the best solution for the business and for those working within the firm.”
