A cleaning and facilities management company called BDi Group has been sold on by administrators, saving about 270 jobs in the process.
KPMG in Manchester was called in to manage the administration process for the group, which has two bases in Cheshire and Wakefield, on 2 September.
The administrators, Paul Flint and Brian Green, were able to quickly agree a sale to Leigh-based Select Security (Northwest), which will take over where BDi left off in fulfilling its ongoing contracts.
The companies involved in the sale are: BDi Holding Group; BDi Cleaning Services; BDi Contact Services; BDi CCTV; BDi NW and BDi Commercial Services.
The multi-faceted group was involved in many services including joinery, vehicle tracking, specialist and contract cleaning, security installation, guarding services, CCTV and access control to customers nationwide.
Joint administrator Paul Flint commented: “We are delighted to have been able to conclude a sale of the business and its assets immediately following our appointment, preserving almost 300 jobs and ensuring a continuity of service for customers.”
The buyer company Select Security offers its services to the public, retail and construction industries as well as event security and facilities management across the North West from its base in Runcorn.
