The company behind many famous statues in London, including two of the lions in Trafalgar Square, has been placed in to administration.
Art Founders Ltd, which trades as Morris Singer Art Foundry, is now in the hands of Matt Bond and Jason Godefroy of MCR, and is still operating while a buyer is sought.
The 150-year old business' works include the figure of Justice, which is positioned on top of the Old Bailey; the Victoria Memorial at the top of the Mall; and Boudicca and the chariot outside the Houses of Parliament.
Bond at MCR said: "Unfortunately, despite its heritage and customer base, the business has fallen into a loss-making position and is unable to continue in its current form."
Adding that: "We are currently looking for a buyer for the business and assets as soon as possible."
Silversmith John Webb Singer founded the business in 1848, in Frome, Somerset. It relocated to London after merging with Morris Art Bronze Foundry in 1927. These days it is situated in Braintree, Essex and has 15 staff at its workshop.
