Administrators are looking to sell motorbike accessory seller Hein Gericke (UK) Ltd after it was placed into administration yesterday.
Hein Gericke is a major brand in the industry in the UK, operating 49 shops, an online shopping service and catalogue. It has a strong presence on the UK high street and has bagged several industry awards.
Moorfields Corporate Recovery has been hired to sell Hein Gericke (UK), which operates separately to its German parent firm, and is encouraging expressions of interest by 6 August.
Hein Gericke is traded in the UK under a license agreement with the parent firm.
The brand is also sold throughout Germany, Austria, Netherlands, Italy, Belgium and Luxembourg. Hein Gericke was a German biker who started out with a motorcycle shop in Germany in the 1970s.
“Hein Gericke (UK) Ltd is one of the leading suppliers of motorcycle accessories in the UK and has a well-established infrastructure in place that will allow a potential buyer to focus on generating sales,” Simon Thomas at Moorfields Corporate Recovery said.
“Whilst the ongoing economic pressures have affected sales in recent years I am confident the business model has a lot of potential with a dedicated customers base and staff who are obviously passionate about working for the company,” he continued.
