A nursing home in Stourport, Worcestershire, has entered administration after receiving a bad review of its care standards last year.
Administrators Paul Addison and David Bennett of Grant Thornton LLP came in to manage Gentle Care Services Limited, which trades as Lickhill Manor Nursing Home, on 22 June.
The administrators’ priority is to find a buyer for the home, and to ensure proper standards for the future.
“Our aim is to ensure the smooth running of The Manor House Nursing Home while we seek a buyer for the business as a going concern,” Mr Addison told The Shuttle.
“The care and nursing needs of the residents are very much uppermost and will continue to be maintained to the highest possible level by ourselves and the nursing home’s staff.”
The grade II listed home runs 38 beds and offers care for up to 40 elderly or adults with a physical disability.
A review conducted in December 2010 uncovered 13 areas requiring urgent improvement, as well as “major concerns” regarding its cleanliness and infection control.
Mr Addison said, “We are liaising with the Care Quality Commission and all other regulatory bodies to ensure the home continues to be run in an appropriate manner.”
