16 Hospitality, which manages four pubs across Cheshire and Anglesey, has appointed administrators from Grant Thornton UK.
The Wythenshawe-based group’s pubs are currently closed due to ongoing coronavirus-related restrictions and the majority of its employees have been furloughed.
In Cheshire, 16 Hospitality runs The Partridge in Stretton and The Old Hall Hotel in Frodsham. Its beach side Anglesey pubs are The White Eagle in Rhoscolyn and The Oyster Catcher in Rhosneigr.
Sarah O’Toole and Jason Bell from Grant Thornton UK LLP’s Manchester office have been appointed as joint administrators for the business, with the administration taking effect on April 9.
Sarah O’Toole said: “We are hopeful that we can find a buyer for the businesses despite the current challenges facing the pub and hospitality sector.”
16 Hospitality Limited’s most recent accounts are made up to the year ending December 31 2018. At the time, the group had fixed assets of £23,430, slightly down from just over £24,600 the year before.
Its current assets at the time amounted to close to £886,000, up from £586,474 in its 2017 accounts, while its net assets stood at £19,476. The company’s directors chose not to disclose the group’s profit and loss accounts within those financial statements.
