Somerset motorbike dealership, V&J Superbikes, is set to enter administration, with an appointment expected to be made this week.
The company, which is based on the Riverside Business Park in Wylds Road, Bridgwater, closed its headquarters’ doors earlier this month, along with another outlet in the town centre of nearby Taunton, according to the Bridgwater Mercury newspaper. The dealership has been in business for around a decade is a franchise dealership for the Japanese manufacturers Honda and Kawasaki.
Speaking to Motorcycle News magazine, the director of the company, David Hopgood, said that trade had been very difficult and a great deal of time and preparation had gone into the decision to go into administration.
He explained, “After the conclusion of our partnership with Honda and some very tough trading conditions the directors of V&J Superbikes have taken the very difficult decision to begin the appointment of Milsted Langdon as administrators.”
A spokesman for Milsted Langdon confirmed that they had been approached to handle the administration process. He said that they were hopeful that an official appointment would be made later this week, but that the formal administration had not yet begun.
Honda issued a release on the matter stating that anyone who had put down a deposit for a bike through V&J should contact Honda directly.
