Shrewsbury-based catering company MPM Catering has entered administration, appointing Mazars LLP to help achieve a sale.
MPM Catering trades as Cook Street and specialises in “street food” style catering at events and private functions across the UK, such as industry events and Royal Horticultural Society shows.
Its high-volume offerings include burgers, fish and chips, waffles, pulled pork, pizza and more, all served from mobile kitchens, as well as collaborations with guest traders.
Established in 2009 and operating from leasehold premises in Shrewsbury, it is a family-run business with a skilled workforce as well as a fleet of catering trailers, on-site support and cold storage vehicles. It has 12 full-time employees, none of whom have been made redundant.
According to, the company’s most recent accounts, to the year ending March 31 2019, MPM Catering has total assets worth £245,000.
Conrad Pearson and Patrick Lannagan of Mazars LLP have been appointed as joint administrators for the business. Pearson said the business had been affected by the loss of its managing director, who passed away last year, while it had also experienced cash-flow difficulties.
Pearson added that: “The administrators are marketing the business and assets in the short term with the hope of achieving a sale. Any interested parties should make contact with Mazars in Manchester”.
