A firm that specialises in the construction of tennis courts and other sports facilities has appointed administrators before an accelerated sale of the business, it has been reported.
According to the Times newspaper this morning (30th January 2017), Essex-based Doe Sport, which has been installing tennis courts since 1926, has asked FRP Advisory to start a sale process for the business.
The firm has installed a tennis court in Tim Henman’s childhood home and worked on the National Tennis Centre in Roehampton.
Doe specialises in court and multi-use games area construction, synthetic turf, artificial grass and hockey and football pitches. The company has offices in Methil in Fife, Skelmersdale in Lancashire and Feering in Essex.
Sarah Swanick, Doe Sport managing director, said: “It has been a delight to see Doe Sport serve up so many show courts across many of the country’s leading tournaments and to help all manner of sports enthusiasts with their performance in all weather conditions.”
A spokesman for FRP said: “We are assisting the directors of Doe Sport in Essex with plans for an accelerated merger and acquisition process of their operations based in Feering, with a view to seeking a buyer for the business and assets.
“Doe has an enviable track record stretching back generations in the area of specialist sports facilities construction across numerous disciplines.”
