A Marlow-based marketing and brand agency has set its sights on US acquisitions after securing investment from equity investor BGF.
Founded in 1995, BWP Group has worked with major brands such as Swedish retail giant IKEA, Lakeside and the Trafford Centre. It provides a whole range of services for its clients from marketing to brand strategy, communications, data & insights and consultancy.
The investment will see BWP look to expand its geographical footprint and enhance those full-service capabilities used by shopping centres, retail outlets and leisure and entertainment venues.
It said it will intensify its growth following the investment with further acquisitions in particular it has its sights set on the emerging opportunities in the US market.
BWP also appointed Pete Edwards, most recently chief executive of Spark Foundry, as chairman. “Pete shares our vision and passion for marketing that not only looks brilliant but delivers measurable commercial results,” BWP said in a statement.
Richard Beasley, chief executive at BWP Group, said: "Today marks a new chapter for our business, which will enable us to further strengthen our offering for our current and future clients. The investment will also allow us to pursue further strategic M&A opportunities to expand our services and deepen our expertise as we continue setting the standard for strategic, results-driven marketing solutions that align creative intelligence with commercial impact."
The deal was led by Matthew Connor, Alex Snodgrass, Alex Chang and Adam Philippsohn, all of whom are part of BGF’s London team.
Connor added: "BWP has established itself as the leading agency for destination assets, bringing a unique blend of creativity and commercial insight to every customer. We are excited to support the team as they enter this new growth phase, expanding their reach and capabilities while retaining their resolute focus on client outcomes and commercial success."
Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
