Kubus, a technology value-added reseller (VAR) based in the Cotswolds, has secured a £9 million investment from active growth capital investor BGF. The investment will enable the company to make targeted acquisitions and accelerate its growth.
Headquartered in Cirencester, Kubus was founded in 2003 and has since established itself as a key presence in the technology industry, generating turnover of £35 million and EBITDA of £2.6 million in the year ending March 31 2024.
The company offers a wide range of IT infrastructure services, focusing on networking, server and storage infrastructure and cybersecurity. Following the investment from BGF, it is seeking to further expand its service offering and drive innovation as a partner to a global customer base of blue chip businesses and public sector organisations.
The BGF investment will enable the company to: grow through targeted acquisitions; enhance its marketing and sales capabilities in order to reach a wider audience; strengthen its operational infrastructure to meet growing demand; explore new market opportunities and strategic partnerships.
Alongside the investment from BGF, Kubus has also bolstered its leadership team through the appointment of highly experienced non-executive chair Paul Brennan through BGF’s Talent Network. A former board member at Amdaris, Brennan is an experienced chair focused on fast-growth technology, tech-enabled businesses and achieving growth by working alongside shareholders, executives and founder teams.
Kubus Executive Chair Andrew Humphrey said that the investment would enable the company to leverage BGF’s “expertise and resources” to reach the next level of growth.
He continued: "This investment will allow us to accelerate our global growth plans, innovate faster, and deliver even greater value to our customers.”
Edwin Davies, investor at BGF, said: "We are excited to invest in Kubus and support their vision for the future. With strong vendor relationships and a long-standing, blue chip customer base, Kubus has demonstrated impressive growth and innovation in the technology sector.”
Davies added that Kubus was “well-positioned to capitalise on the strong market opportunities ahead”.
