Simpkins Edwards, a prominent chartered accountant and business adviser in the South West, has expanded with the acquisition of an accountancy practice based in South Devon. The strategic acquisition of Kingsteignton-based Redmayne & Co will be effective from July 2025.
Operating in the area for more than 40 years, Redmayne & Co has significant local market knowledge, which Simpkins Edwards says will complement its reputation for delivering expert, personalised advice to individuals and businesses across the South West.
The deal will see Redmayne & Co's established client base transition to Simpkins Edwards, growing the buyer’s reach and strengthening its presence in the region.
The majority of new client engagements will be led by Simpkins Edwards Associate Julie Rose and Director Maddy Sutton, supported by the firm’s partners as required. This approach aims to aid service continuity, while ensuring clients have access to the wider range of expertise and services that Simpkins Edwards offers across a number of industries.
Following the acquisition, Simpkins Edwards will seek to further facilitate a smooth integration by hosting two open evenings at their office in Bovey Tracey. These events are aimed at enabling new clients to meet the team and understand how the combined expertise of the two companies can support their needs.
Simpkins Edwards Managing Partner Mark Simic commented: "This acquisition represents a defining chapter in Simpkins Edwards' strategic growth plans, reinforcing the firm's commitment to serving local communities while expanding its regional footprint. With over five decades of experience, Simpkins Edwards brings comprehensive accountancy and business advisory services to support the continued success of Redmayne & Co's valued clients."
