A last minute sale has saved 37 people from redundancy following the administration of Manchester-based cosmetic surgery company Surgicare.
The firm, which specialises in weight loss procedures including liposuction and other cosmetic surgery, fell into administration at the end of October this year following a serious downturn in trade and financial problems.
Now, Surgicare, which is located in Northenden, has been bought by healthcare business RAM1001, a Bromsgrove-based company set up by private hospital group The Hospital Medical Group. The price paid for Surgicare has currently not been disclosed.
RSM Tenon's Chris Ratten and Jeremy Woodside were appointed as joint administrators of Surgicare in October.
Chris Ratten, joint administrator and head of recovery at RSM Tenon in the North West, said, “We are pleased to have secured the successful sale of Surgicare and certain assets, as it means that a significant number of people will remain in work, and that they will be able to fulfil existing obligations to patients currently receiving treatment.”
Surgicare reported a £7 million turnover and a pre-tax loss of £1.3 million in its last reported accounts, which covered the year to 31 December 2008.
