Car sales giant Arnold Clark has acquired Blackpool-based garage Moorland Motors for an undisclosed sum.
The company was founded in 1984 by Bill Swire and has been a family-run business every since.
In the handover to Arnold Clark, staff and business will continue as normal under new ownership.
Eddie Hawthorne, managing director of the purchasing firm, commented: "As a family-run business, Arnold Clark shares the same ethos as the Swire family and will continue forward to offer genuine value for money and generating high levels of customer satisfaction."
Moorland Motors took advice on the business sale from Napthens solicitors, Moore and Smalley Chartered Accountants and Businesses advisors, who also provided tips and help on tax and accounting.
Managing director of the Blackpool company, Tony Boyd, stated: "A combined 350 years of service will transfer to Arnold Clark.
"Bill Swire opened the business over 20 years ago, and we are delighted we have managed to retain this expertise to provide the best customer experience for our Blackpool and Fylde customer, this will be an exciting new chapter for the team."
