Cloud and IT services provider Babble has announced the acquisitions of Kilmarnock-based Halo Communications and Newcastle firm Digital Communications Systems (DCS). Backed by private equity firm Graphite Capital, Babble has now completed nine acquisitions over the past 12 months.
The deal for Halo further adds to the company’s Scottish presence, coming just weeks after its acquisition of Dumfries-based 8020. Halo provides voice, data and IT services to SMEs throughout the UK, while DCS is a managed networked services provider, offering solutions including voice data networks.
According to Chief Executive Matthew Parker (pictured above), the deals come at a time when Babble is focusing its acquisitive activity on the north of England and Scotland. In addition to the latest double acquisition and the recent 8020 takeover, Babble acquired north-west business telecoms provider Concert in August.
Matthew Parker said: "There is outstanding technology talent in these regions, and in Halo Communications and DCS we've acquired two business that align perfectly with our goals and ambitions. We're looking forward to the road ahead, delivering transformational change to even more highly valued customers."
Babble’s acquisitive activity over the past year has seen its business grow rapidly. The company says that bookings have risen by 90 per cent compared to 2020 and it now has a network of over 200 staff serving more than 4,000 customers nationwide.
DCS Managing Director Brendan Mulvenna commented: "I'm thrilled with the position that DCS has reached since forming in 1992. The acquisition by Babble is an exciting next step for the business and I look forward to playing my part in Babble's ambitious plans to be a leading player in the north-east."
