After a series of top restaurant closures in the recent past, another is set to join them imminently: No Man’s Grace in Redland, Bristol will continue to trade until a new owner is found.
Described as having “a classic heart and modern touch” by the Michelin Guide, the restaurant also boasts four and a half out of five stars rating on TripAdvisor and was granted a four out of five rating by The Telegraph when the establishment opened in 2014.
However the business is closing its doors as the current owner, John Watson, and his girlfriend are expecting their first child by the end of the year and wish to focus their attention on home life rather than running a restaurant.
He said: “My girlfriend and I are expecting a little boy in December and I made the difficult decision to put the restaurant on the market so that I don’t miss important evenings with the two of them.”
The property, located on Chandos Road, will be managed by leisure property retailers Fleurets who are currently on the hunt for a buyer.
Head of Fleurets’ Retail Leisure and Restaurants division, Kevin Conibear, said: “John has established No Man’s Grace as one of the leading restaurants in Bristol’s thriving independent food scene, which is continuing to flourish.
“The demand we are witnessing for neighbourhood restaurants at present is superb…Given its popularity as an area to live and visit and its proximity to the city centre, Chandos Road is a sought-after location and we are already dealing with direct approaches, prior to even launching marketing.”
No Man’s Grace has received Michelin’s respected Bib Gourmand prize for two consecutive years in 2015 and 2016, and was listed in The Times' Top 25 Coolest Restaurants.
